LAYLOW is a multi-disciplinary creative duo based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
We come from a graphic, fashion and spatial background. Our primary interest lies in creating experiences through our concepts and designs. We operate from our studiospace in Rotterdam, which serves as an inspiring creative place for our projects.

Our studio space
LAYLOW stands for the connecting element between you and the idea. We ensure that we keep the concept and the project in place, like a nut does. Just as a nut secures and supports a bolt, we provide the stability and strength needed for your concepts to thrive. Our mission is to tighten the connections within a project, allowing your ideas to shine and grow in a cohesive environment.
What satisfies us most is working through a complete process. We enjoy developing concepts and bringing them to production, allowing us to experience the entirety of a project. We work in both digital and analog mediums because we believe that authentic textures and colors are just as important as their digital counterparts. As long as you are open to sharing your story, we would love to help you bring it to life.
On this website, you will find a multi-disciplinary visual portfolio showcasing some projects we have worked on over the past few years. These projects range from branding to spatial to experience design. In all our work, we place a strong emphasis on detail, as we believe that focusing on the finer points will make a project stand out in today’s world.

LARS & LOTJE
During our projects, we operate using a structured approach that consists of six distinct phases, to be precise. It’s important to note that not all phases are applicable to every project, as the specific needs and wishes of our clients play a significant role in shaping this process. Each project is unique, and we adapt our methodology to fit the situation.
01 Observation
We kick off every project by diving into our Loose Images Archive, a collection of images from our daily lives. This archive is filled with moments and observations that catch our eye, showcasing a variety of colors, materials, and textures. As we go through these images, we find inspiration that sparks our creativity and informs our design journey.
02 Research
Once we explore our archive, we turn our attention to research for the project. This phase involves getting to know the client and their vision. Understanding their past and future aspirations is key for us. With insight into their wishes, we then delve deeper into the subject matter. This research helps us draw meaningful connections between the present and the past, ensuring our work aligns perfectly with their goals.
03 Concepting
In the concept phase, we begin to develop our ideas, building on what we discovered in the previous steps. This is where the creativity really flows! We start connecting all the dots we’ve lined up and explore various ideas, letting our imaginations run wild as we craft a cohesive concept that truly reflects the client’s vision.e archive, all based on the theme of our debut project.
04 Production
During the production phase, we bring all the developed concepts to life. This is the part where our ideas really take shape as we move closer to the final results, and we believe it’s the most exciting phase of the project! In addition to bringing the concepts to fruition, we also focus on producing all the necessary deliverables.
05 Delivery
The delivery phase is all about the practical side of things. During this stage, we provide all the deliverables we’ve agreed upon and discussed. You can expect to receive a package with digital formats, maybe some refreshments in a meeting space, printed materials like newspapers, and more. We view this as the final step in our collaboration with the client, wrapping up the project together.
06 Reflection
The final step is the reflection. This is our dedicated time to look back on the project and review everything we’ve accomplished. We archive the project and examine what we did, highlighting the aspects we found most intriguing. It’s a valuable opportunity for us to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that we learn and grow from each experience.
